Passing of the Greatest Generation

They are today almost all gone. A young 20 year old sailor stationed at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 is now a old man approaching his 93rd birthday. At a time of such sickening divide in our nation, it is heartening to look back on a generation like no other. When faced with imminent peril; all layers of our complex society pulled together as one. In doing so, this “Greatest Generation,” saved the world.

WW II vets are passing at the inexorable rate of over 1000 per day; soon to be amongst us no more. Have we thanked them enough? Could we ever?
