The 48 State Club

When we married over nine years ago, we committed to explore some side roads in life while still in good health and good spirits.

Our goal was to spend at least one night together within every state's boarder and while there, to have fun, at least once. Boarding now at Philadelphia International a homebound flight, Pennsylvania successfully checked off as the last of the lower 48. Mission accomplished.
When locked in on the incessant 24-hour news cycle, one would think our country is in terrible trouble. On our travels, we did not get that impression. It does no harm just once in a while to acknowledge that the whole country isn't in flames, that there are people out there besides politicians, celebrities and criminals. We cut trail with many - a multitude of simple people doing good for their neighbors with no expectation of reward or recognition. I like uncovering their stories. I have enough inspiring material for three future books.
Our plan is to now circle back and revisit our favorites, digging deeper; seeking always fun in unforeseen e
ncounters, unexpected sights and future passing fancies.
